Make Pasta From Scratch

This fasting month, I have been cooking a bit here and there. Yesterday I decided to try making pasta from scratch. Thanks to Jamie Oliver's recipe, I ventured into the unknown (well at least to me).
First I sifted one and a half cup of all purpose flour onto a board and made a hole in the middle. I cracked two eggs inside the hole, added a pinch of salt and two teaspoons of olive oil.
After that, I gently whisked the mixture until it was an even yellow. Then, I pushed all the flour into the mixture and started kneading the dough until it felt soft.
Of course, if you have a food processor, you would not have to knead as much but where is the fun in that, right? =p Now if you have a pasta machine, you can run the dough through it a few times till you get an even thin sheet but if like me, you do not have one then you are going to have to roll it over and over again.
Using a rolling pin is really tiring so I suggest you get a pasta machine. Make sure you stretch it out as thin as possible.
Next step is shaping your pasta. You can cut it like I did or you can shape it as raviolli or you can just cut them into squares as lasagna sheets. It is really up to you.
I cut my pasta poorly and when I boiled it, each strand was a different shape hahaha. But if you are wondering how it tasted, let me tell you, it was worth the effort. You will never go back to dried pasta ever again.
Try it and let me know how it goes =)
